GCSE results day 4awebWe are pleased with our first set of GCSE results.  More than one in four GCSE results was one of the highest grades, 7 and 8 (the old A & A* grades) and the new grade 9; in addition almost 75% of our students achieved at least 5 good GCSE passes.

Stand out results included Kate Lally who gained 7 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s, Mildred Akpabio-Klementowska who gained 11 of the top two grades and Mohammed Rasoul who with his 5 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s also got an A** (double star!) for his Further Mathematics examination.

With GCSEs now more difficult, it was very pleasing to see so many of our first year 11 cohort attain the highest GCSE grades, with a number of individuals gaining grades 7-9 in each of their ten subjects. There were also a number of real success stories involving students who had to overcome some significant challenges in order to get the grades they did.

Our Primary School continues to improve further its pupil outcomes at each stage of statutory assessment with 80% GLD at the end of Reception, 100% success with the Phonics screening test in Year 1 and very pleasing improvements across the board with our End of Key Stage 1 assessments.

Richard Burke, Principal, said “Our pupils' and students’ success is a result of many factors, not least the dedication and hard work of our staff.  We also appreciated the support of their parents; acknowledging and highlighting the invaluable partnership that helps to generate positive outcomes for young people.”
